  3. Hello Jes,
sorry, don't have Lulu Kiss Me Dead. I tried to look for this one but I can only find the 7" version for sale and the track you mention is off course the extra track on the 12" version. Seems to be very rare. There seems to be another 12" of this band called 'Speak To Me'.
    Looking forward to your blog!

  11. Anyone else who has the problem of the file being corrupted? Please let me know.
Nuzz, sorry don't have any UK Wasted Youth.
To Julio; we called bands like Siglo XX 'cold wave' overhere :) . Still need to rip some of their records.

oh, fine, this positive punk is a thing of brazil. they love the expression here. was useful to escape the "gothic" connection. ya know, the sun, tropics, some people see as bad for you to love "down" music...

well, thanks for the attention and feedback! wanna ask: do ya have the second layer album? it´s a project from adrian borland, of "the sound" fame. it´s still rock, but they use drum machines and hard distortion on the guitars. i have this and could upload and send the link for ya to a post, as i myself wont have a blog. say if you think it's a good idea...

  17. Hello Julio,
i have the Second Layer album on CD with the extra tracks from their EP's. I like it a lot. Maybe I'll post it later.
    Siglo XX up next!
Positive punk? Gothic? Cold wave? Deathrock? It's all just giving names. I don't care that much about it. Maybe just better to call it all postpunk :)
I personally think that positive punk/gothic was more of an English thing. Deathrock was the US name. In Europe the bands were more influenced by Joy Division/The Cure(early) and got the cold wave tag.
    Take care.

Thanks for the Johns. You have a fantastic blog. Some of these bands bring back great memories. The obscure ones are fascinating. This post-punk era seems to be largely forgotten, except for the Rough Trade related bands. I was at the 3 Johns show that was recorded for the Live at Chicago Lp. Does anyone have that handy?
Keep up with the great work. Cheers.

  19. Hello Pope Leo,
thanx for the comment. Don't have the Live In Chicago. In fact, I'm not really into live albums :)
Maybe someone else can upload it??

  23. The Three Johns always had their hearts in the right place and only sometimes managed to produce a good tune. But when they did!
