Party Day, The Tempest, Moskow

Here's another batch of 7" singles kindly donated by Lo Spettro Di Se Stesso.
Gonna begin with the band I know best.

Party Day
Here is the second 7" released by Barnsley band Party Day. It seems that the sleeve was filled with confetti.

The Spider 7" (Party Day Records-FX 302-1984)
1. The Spider
2. Flies

The Spider

The Tempest
I must admit that I don't know alot about The Tempest. I think this is their first release. They also released the 'Montezuma' 12" and '5 Against The House' LP on Anagram. Any extra info welcome.

Lady Left This 7" (Glass Records-Glass 029-1984)
1. Lady Left This
2. Attic

The Tempest

Moskow
here's the most obscure of the bunch. UK band, maybe the same who released the 'Man From Uncle' 7"? Couldn't find any info.

Heat House 7" (Rygel-RYG 6-1982)
1. Heat House
2. Robot

Moskow

Thanks so much for "The Spider", which was one of the first records I bought as a result of hearing it on John Peel's show. Awesome tune!

If you're taking requests, can I suggest anything by Nervous Choir (e.g. the "1060 Hold Everything" LP and the "Alsations" EP). Thanks!

Saying thanks for Party Day aswell - so, thanks. You're getting some good donations coming in these days.

The band Moskow that relesed Man From U.N.C.L.E was Trevor Tanner of The Bolshoi's band after The Bolshoi split up. They only released one 7" so it isn't the same band... unfortunatly.

n-rich, don't have anything by Nervous Choir. Will be on the lookout.
Enjoy Party Day Highlander.
Thanks for pointing that out Zombieflesh. Now I hope someone could tell more about this Moskow band.

Oh, I made a mistake.
The Trevor Tanner-Moskow band was BEFORE The Bolshoi, not after.
I said wrong.

So it could be the same band. Never heard the 'Man From Uncle' 7" so I can't compare.

Zombieflesh said...

No.. It's not the same band :(
The band that relased "Man from Uncle" only released that single.
According to The Bolshoi's website.
It doesn't sound alike either.

Funny, I found a sealed copy of that Tempest LP a few months back at a local record store... didn't know who they were at the time, but noticed the Anagram logo and decided to go for it... and I'm glad I did!

Awesome- anything to grab by Party Day is always a treat for me- they always reminded me of Chameleons UK- the lyrics aren't quite as good, but the front-man's got a better voice.

hi, thanks for The Tempest and for other superb post-punk nuggets!!! any chance to find The Colors Out Of Time? a forgotten band from the eighties who released only the single "Rock Section" for Monsters In Orbit Records in 1981
