Headhunters - Industrial Warfare LP

Bored of listening to your early Killing Joke LP's over and over again? Well here's an alternative.
Headhunters were from London and this is the only full length the band ever released. Again not a lot to be found on Headhunters.
Shout Records is an interesting label that also released records by Peyr, Hack Hack and Wicked Kitchen Staff.
Here's a discography:
Wipe Out The Funk 12" (Shout Records)
Industrial Warfare LP (Shout Records)
Impossible 7" (Shout Records)
Way Of The South 12" (Quiet Records)

Industrial Warfare LP (Shout Records-LX 004-1983)
1. Bright And Bloody
2. Family Entertainment
3. All This And Radio Too
4. Straitjacket
5. Mange Tak... Nej Tak...
6. Landlord
7. Sensible Shoes
8. Conscience Day
9. Step And Routine

Industrial Warfare

Would love to track down those Headhunters singles! Good to hear this LP again.
***************

You mention "Peyr" which I had discovered online - For those of us unfamiliar with the correct spelling, Þeyr (pronounced and alternately spelled Theyr), are a pre-Sugarcubes band circa the early 80's.

I just had this Þeyr spelling brought to my attention, and it opened up the amount of info I could actually find on that band.

Thanks for the comments.
Fritz, do you have the records of Peyr that were released in Iceland? I only have the LP on Shout and the 4th Reich 12". The others are near impossible to find or very expensive.
Poekepi, don't have Mecano. You mean the Dutch band I suppose. Even the discography CD is hard to get. The Autportrait LP is posted on Lost-In-Tyme and Retitled/Subtitled on Rho-Xs blog.

Headhunters? Not to be confused with Herbie Hancock's Band I guess.
I'll try it
Do you have the Wicked Kitchen Staff also? My vinyl is gone long time..

Hello Friend Electric,
no this is another band than Herbie Hancock's. I came across this reference too when I looked for more info.
I have the Wicked Kitchen Staff. Will post it sometime soon. Quite weird record.

Wow, this is great !. Seems like KJ influenced some fantastic bands at that time....RED BEAT and 1919 to name another couple.

Does anyone have more Head Hunters ?

Hi Paul,
I've got the other Headhunters records except for the 'Way Of The South' 12". Once I obtain this one, I'll post these too.

CG, I think I have the full recordings of Þeyr in files, including 3 with Jaz in Iceland (Killing Joke). It may be easier to PM me on the Deathrock.com boards, and I can give you info, maybe set up a zip folder? (Still dragging my feet on setting some stuff up)

Were these headhunters not Sheffield's own Comsat Angels, durning a short-lived name change?

Just class. Thanks a lot. Like a previous post said some 1919 would be nice. Top blog.

Curious Guy said...

Hello John,
I would like to post some 1919 but there's a discography CD released on Anagram which is still available. Don't want to step on anyone's toes.
Thanks for the appreciation!
