The Loved One - Locate And Cement LP

Don't know a lot of The Loved One. First heard them on the 'Life At The Top' comp. LP on Third Mind.
Band members are Dryden Hawkins and Zeb Yek.
It's a great album of experimental music from the early 80's, but not a lot of people seem to know The Loved One.

Locate And Cement LP (Metaphon-M1-1985)
1. A Diet Of Nitro-Glycerine
2. Isomorphism IV
3. Phoenix Hairpins
4. Crashless
5. Through The Hollow Reed...
6. ...Down The Pollen Path
7. The New Semaphore
8. Bad Archery
9. F.M.R.L.
10. A Sheet Dances The Tango
11. Something For The Weekend

Thanks for posting this - so that's were you got your name from :-) Yes LIFE AT THE TOP was great for introducing these bands (also see PORNOSECT and NAGAMATZU) - maybe this jewel deserves a future post?

Hey Acts Of Worship,
Cranio is planning to post this comp. sometime. I do have the 'Could You Walk On The Waters', another comp. on Third Mind.

CYWOTW would be a great choice, I do already have a digitalised version from a Russian paysite (mp3spy), but I'm sure those unfamiliar with this release will love it. Another Third Mind candidate would be the labelboss'project BUSHIDO, especially the mlp's AMONGST THE RUINS and DELIVERANCE...

Thanks for illuminating The Loved One!

I am in the process of digitally remastering the entire catalogue of THE LOVED ONE for its' first appearance on CD (Aside from The Some Bizzare output ). . . . . The albums "An Example of the Species . . ." (1979), " . . . . Further Observations" (1982), Locate and Cement (1985), The Radio Fantazias (1994) are due 2007/8 on a rolling release. . . . . A new album "SET" will be released late 2007. . . . . My work with ZWANG TABOO! - "Fixing it up with Zwang Taboo!" (1998) should be available in 2009/10! - as will "Let it Ring" (Oxford version (1988) & Reims version (2005)), plus my film work with Aldous Eveleigh & Gilles Blaize - "Incidental Music". . . . .

If you want to contact me I can be reached, for the time being, through Myspace >

I cannot object to people downloading 'LOCATE AND CEMENT' from your posting as the album bears the legend "Please feel free to tape this record"! - though I should point out that the remastered issues should "sound" superior to the vynyl, plus without the cutting limitations some of the lost material is restored.........

I have finally posted four tracks on www.myspace.com/zwangtaboo

..... there are also leads to some of my other works in deep cyberspace on the myspace page.

Thank you and all for listening
