No Trend - A Dozen Dead Roses

Slobodan wants, Slobodan gets.
Here's the second album of No Trend. Don't expect a 'Too Many Humans' part 2 here. The line-up changed drastically, so did the sound a bit. Where the first album was more of an attack on human social behaviour, this album deals more with love and relationships, again with a good dose of negativity.
4 tracks were co-written with Lydia Lunch (tracks 2,3,8 & 10) and were also seperately released on the 'Heart Of Darkness' 10".

Your love is,
the beauty of death

Your love is,

a dozen dead roses

Your love is,

your weakness
Your love,

takes shape of

a puddle on the floor

A Dozen Dead Roses LP (No Trend Records-NT 005-1985)
1. Karma Nights
2. Your Love
3. Tear You Apart
4. Never Again
5. All Of Nothing
6. Good Day Mrs. Hamm
7. For The Fun Of It All
8. The Curse
9. Heartache
10. Who's To Say

A Dozen Dead Roses

WOW!
How the hell did I miss that first No Trend album?!
I've been wanting to hear Too many Fucking Humans (you breed like rats!) again for nearly 20 years.
Thanks, man!

And I'd buy anything with Lydia in it. I'd watch a Penn and Teller video if she was in it.

THANK YOU! ABSOLUTELY SUPERCOOL! AS EXPECTED!

Being from Europe, I never heard about Penn and Teller but I checked and....hmmm...
I've seen those Fingered films of Richard Kern once with Lydia Lunch, Henry Rollins and Jim Thirlwell.Quite brutal.
I also witnessed Lydia Lunch live with Shotgun Wedding and there was some guy screaming Fuck You all the time and she replied: "Go fuck yourself, it's much cheaper":D

I was searching this one about 22 years. I've only have listen to it, 22 years ago in a radio station in Greece (wow) and I felt "frozen".
I searched it over and over again, and I'm thrilled that I founded today.
Many many thanks. You're awesome.

But now lets get academic: which LP is the better?

How hard is that, both are brilliant.

The first obviously more misanthropic but then the second is more nuanced...etc.

I'll settle with both are best!

Thank you thank you. A Dozen Dead Roses is, to me, the best No Trend album. Nicely done.

THANKS! i had a tape of the first 5 or 6 songs on DOZEN DEAD ROSES and for years my gf & i would just get zoned out to it.. she was a buddhist so karma nights was especially funny & poignant. anyway - been looking for it for long time since the tape disappeared with the gf.

Thanks for posting this. I havbe the first No Trend album, and Heart of Darkness, and the (awful) third one, but I had never even heard of ADDR before seeing it on your blog. Thank you so much for posting.

Footnote: I co-presented Lydia Lunch for a live spoken word performance and premiere of Fingered in Niagara Falls around 1985 or so. The ladies from the Polish Legion who catered the venue were ...unimpressed, but everyone else had a good time. Ah, memories.

Does anyone know if No Trends LP Heart of Darkness will ever see a release again. I need to hear it!

Curious Guy said...

I think there are some disputes regarding No Trend so no reissues will see the light of day in the near future.

Can someone post a new link to "Tritonian Nash-Vegas Polyester Complex". I only can find this on vinyl.

I am not a robot!
