The Cassandra Complex - March 12"

Here's another request. The 'March' 12" is the band's first release, originally issued in 1984 on their own Complex label. My copy is the German pressing on Normal Records from 1985.
The Cassandra Complex started in the early 80's. Members then were Rodney Orpheus, who moved from Northern-Ireland to Leeds, Paul Dillon and Andrew Booth. After the self-released 'March' 12", The Cassandra Complex signed with local Leeds label Rouska Records. On this label they released the excellent 'Moscow Idaho' 12", 'Datakill' 12" and 'Grenade' LP. There is also the album 'Hello America' which was compiled from previous releases for the USA.
After Rouska Records finished, the band signed to Belgian indie Play It Again Sam. The most interesting release is the 'Something Came Over Me' 12", their own interpretation of the Throbbing Gristle song. Also the double live album 'Feel The Width' was released on PIAS.
The Cassandra Complex released a few more albums in the early 90's but I haven't heard any of them.
If some of you are interested in more of the early Cassandra Complex releases, just let me know.

The Cassandra Complex webpage can be found here.

Everything from Cassandra Complex is welcomed. I have almost their stuff but only on vinyl. "Theomania", "Satan, Bus Bunny and Me", and "Ciberpunx" are a must.

thanks for posting this and cheers to whoever gave you the idea :-) you've saved a precious vinyl from disintegration. I prefer the old stuff - after 'Feel the Width' (maybe a good idea for a post as the downsized cd reissue is inferior to the original 2xlp) it went downhill, but I also have a soft spot for the cd single (bonus to 'War Against Sleep') with 'Mind Machine' = Aleister Crowley chanting enochian against an electronic backdrop - as simple as effective... (I think Mr Opheus became a Crowley inspired occultist later on...)

I can do the 'Feel The Width' but it's gonna be a hell of a job ripping this one. Think I'll do some 12"s first :)

Sure & looking forward to it! Hey, do you have a wantlist of stuff YOU're looking for? Always quite willing to return a favor...

Acts of worship, I know your interest lies in the more experimental side of music. Well I'm still looking for some hard-to-find comp. albums like 'Desperately Seeking Suicide', 'Born Out Of Dreams', 'L'Enfer Est Intime', and so on... And I'm also interested in Dutch acts like Vice, Exploiting The Prophets, Ensemble Pittoresque, Das Wesen, Bazooka, the Nexda/Cargo Cultus split 7",... Read about all these in Vinyl magazine when I was young and had no money :)

Hi Curious Guy, I used to have a copy of 'Desperately Seeking Suicide' but in a moment of insanity I traded it without even keeping a tape copy :-( As far as I recall it fell in the 'great bands, poor tracks' category - nice artwork though. Check out www.ensemblepittoresque.net for demo's and downloads. I can help you with 'l'Enfer Est Intime' + some individual tracks from the bands you mention. I don't like to publish my data on the www, so let me know how I can contact you directly or ask Cranio my e-mail address and we'll go on from there.

Thanks acts of worship. I'll ask Cranio for your email address.

hhhmmm ok they had some good songs but nothing very special i think .
At the past i had the 80s lp's by cassandra complex but i sold them...
The only record i kept is The War against Sleep (1991). A good record from the begging to the end...
