Masoch - s/t 12"

Pretty rare 12" of this French new wave/synthpop band.
Before this 12" came the split 7" with Les Provisoires in 1982 which you can find here.
Not much to be found on Masoch so any extra info is welcome.
Quite cheesy cover artwork.

Masoch 12" (XIS-XS 2002-1984)
1. Petit Valet
2. Strip-Tease
3. Barcelone
4. Des Poils Sur Moi
5. Quand Musclée

Hey J, thanks for pointing that out. Never had this before. Just ripped the track again and it's uploading now.

Paul, I already checked that song on Highlander's blog ad I'm afraid I can't help you. Sounds interesting though and would like to know who it is too.

Hello Curious Guy,

I just wanted to say a short, but nonetheless heart-felt THANK YOU for posting all these gems that seemingly no one else cared about when they should have been "hip". I've found so much awesome music through this blog and I'm still sitting here with my mouth wide open...

This is so beautiful! Flawless, elegant French pop new wave with great tunes and one of those rare dark sexy female voices I like. Thank you very much for this!

Thank you so much for posting this. I recently fell in love with Masoch after hearing the track "des poils sur moi" on the Des Jeunes Gens Modernes" compilation and have been searching for this ever since. Reminiscent of Young Marble Giants, only sexier

Um, I did some research.
they're from montpellier, from southern France.
The singer is Elise Cabane, who's a French artist, although sometimes she's listed as Cabanes, so I'd better give a link:
http://www.myspace.com/elisecabanes

it seems, she's in the almost same outfit that's suited on cover.
And if you hadn't seen this
http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=1583827 - it could be her that poses on cd.
Here's the back sleeve:

Another members are Laurent Leguen, who wrote lyrics together with Elise, on bass - Jean-Francois Sabay and Pascal Abrieu (though what is batteries)? The source

Hi N. de la Crux, thanks for all the extra info you provided. Much appreciated.

Oh yeah, "batteries" is French for "drums".
