Mediafire account suspended

Bringing you the sad news that my account on mediafire has been suspended. Thanks to some LA company that claimed copyright violation on the 'Susan' Story' 12" of Cry Of The Innocent. A bit strange as former member Lee made a comment on that one a long time ago, without asking me to pull down the link.
Don't know what I'll do in the future. All links are down for the moment.

UPDATE!
Got a response from Gypsy Lee Pistolero (ex-singer of Cry Of The Innocent):
Hi Vince,
It wasn't me and you don't have to take it down. Tossers!
& Viva you for promoting hidden gems!
Regards,
Lee.

Sorry comrade. It's already a helluva slog to do the work you're doing, and now the mini-capitalists are coming after you! I hope you can bounce back, but you did great work that's appreciated by strangers everywhere. Thanks for that.

No. Start a "re-ups" link page that other's can contribute to (in comments) and make re-up requests on. Seems there are more and more file hosts popping up, though I don't know which are the better, but I'm sure enough people have coveted your offerings to make a dent in the back-catalog.

Screw these bitch jockeys f#ckin' up everyone's good times with their suits and ties. So, as they say in the ghetto, onward ho!

Thanks for the kind words. I need to find a better filehost now. I'll probably re-up some stuff but it'll take some time.
That company probably thought I uploaded some Susan Boyle-related crap or something. I wrote to Lee to clear things up so I could file a counterclaim but I'm too late now.

So sorry to hear that - you are *so* careful with only posting songs that are unavailable/out of print, so that is ridiculous!

Unbelievable why these people make such an issue over material that is long out of print and for the most part forgotten about..They should be thanking us for bringing back these lost items.....Us Bloggers state that if any artist has an issue, we will gladly take down the material..i've complied on a number of occasions,...without naming other sharing sites, there are a host of alternatives..You are one of my clear favorites, so don't let it get you down.. stay at it and thank you for your great posts....

Ouch. What a bitch this must be. For what it's worth I haven't had much of a hassle with Rapidshare. Good luck getting reestablished.

sorry to hear thsat, you know I had the same shit problem a few months ago and I was also confused, fuck mediafire, they have no balls and who needs those zeros??? - Take care and dont get away. - try 4shared or divshare, works fine for me - FIGHT BACK!!!!

lex dexter said...

Gotta echo WildDevilMan and admit that I, too, have a softspot for 4share, tho I can't pin down why.

This is just another versions of the jocks fucking with the punks, except it's not 1983 and we're not getting night-sticked to pulp. We're fighting a war that we CAN win.

My question is, who's our primary enemy. Record labels using their last dimes to monitor low-level online record geekery, or weird computer czars guarding bandwidth and upholding their weird ideas of propriety. Obviously I know more about the former than the latter, but FUCK all of 'em.

Curious Guy said...

Actually I don't think that any ex-member has something to do with it. Those companies use some robot function to search for stuff remotely listed as copyright material.
I still support small labels and buy records. I just hate the whole entertainment industry including the major labels that are only interested in $$$$. None of which you'll find here. I'm not interested in their crap anyway.

My friend, all the links of wonderful posts lost...
MF strikes again diminishing to thin air all the work you've done, it's too bad, too bad.

Yeah, I'm positive that the issues I had with Systems of Romance had NOTHING to do with the two releases (unreleased vol. 1 and 3) but just happened to have a similar enough filename to something else they were flagging by bot. No warnings, no explanations, just a suspension outright. Fuck mediafire and very sorry to hear this has happened to you as well, V. Drop me an email- have most (if not all) of your uploads and would be happy to help reupload if and when you decide to get to it. In the meanwhile, if you're attached to any of your writings here, i'd look into exporting the content to a wordpress or a personal file to just keep, even if just for memory's sake...

Horrible news. Thank you for one of the best things on the internet. My sympathies for all this unjust harassment your being subjugated to. It's ridiculous that mediafire will automatically terminate your account without any chance of redress. Especially in your case as you have proof of their mistake from the band itself. Apparently it's time to start naming files so the corporate bots wont confuse it with some major label garbage. Which is lame, because we have nothing legit to hide from. Only a corporate strangle hold that cares nothing for innocent bystanders in their never ending quest for more money.

Curious Guy said...

Thanks for the support Dane. Actually that file was named as it was. Still didn't stop those corporate bots to remove it.
Sent an inquiry to mediafire but can't get back into my account. I need to address the problem to those companies. Don't want to deal with them. Here's the page of that company :

Chose another filehost for now.

I`d like to thank you for ALL the effort you`ve done in sharing your wonderful music collection!!!
I have been introduced to so many new artists that I had never heard of, and as a musician who is currently working on producing a debut album I must say that the music you`ve shared has inspired and helped shape a new direction in my songwriting. I will always be greatful to the Phoenix Hairpins blog for having given me the `extra spice` that my music was lacking. I look forward to giving back with music that is as interesting and original as the many albums in which I now adore, that I discovered here.

Best wishes,
Severyn
