Pigbros With The Membranes - Now Is The Time To Remove Your Mask 12"

Very first release on Cake is this collaboration of Pigbros with The Membranes. On side A you can hear 2 tracks that can be found on other Pigbros records, but here re-recorded with Membranes members.

PS: Mediafire's uploader doesn't work for me today so this file is on Multiupload.

The Capitols - s/t 7"

2nd in a series on the Cake label. 2 very short songs on this one. Pretty indie stuff in the C86 vein, with female vocals. The only 7" released on Cake.
Fans of the Shop Assistants might enjoy this one.

The Atom Spies - And Their Treacherous Pop On Microdot 12"

November is Cake month, the label that also brought us some nice stuff of Pigbros.
Here's the first one and one of the most hard-to-find too. Can't find a lot of info on them but you can watch some good live stuff on youtube if you care. Too bad this is their only release.

Bad Tune Men

Indie noise rock band from Sunbury On Thames, Middlesex, UK. Don't know anything about them but if you dig some stuff from a label like In Tape, you might enjoy Bad Tune Men as well.

Both records were released on their own Nonchalant Records.

The Wait - Cry (Without Tears) 7"

UK wave band with female vocals. They also appeared on the 'Not Waving But Drowning' comp. LP (posted on Mutant Sounds). The Wait also contributed to the 'Primitive Package' Comp. 7" and also released a 2-song 7" flexi in 1985. They also appear (posthumously I guess) on the French 'Unreleased Volume 2' comp. album.
Any extra info welcome.

Toylets - It's Like A Daydream, Exploding Again LP

Thanks to bX-59cppw for this generous gift. bX--59cppw won't continue updating his/her blog because of other priorities but will provide some stuff here or on fellow bloggers Capa Nostra Syndicate and Systems Of Romance.
Always wanted to score a copy of the Toylets album but never got around to do it. It's actually the easiest to find. This is off course the same band that released 2 singles as The Toilets, on Top Hole as well.
A pretty great album with a strong influence of The Cure.
The 'An Unspoiled Land' 7" can be found in the blogworld but I would like to hear their 1st 7" 'Boxjunction'. They also have 1 track on a comp. flexi with Social Security and Op De Koffie Band.
Top Hole was also responsible for the Qua Dance 7" and various records of The Visitor. Those can be found on No Longer Forgotten Music.

Blue Sound - Nouvelle Creature LP

Just got this one in and some people asked me if I could post it so here it is.
One of those French bands I know nothing about. The French Wave site doesn't have any info as well.
'Nouvelle Creature' is a pretty good album although a bit short. Wouldn't call it coldwave but it has elements. 'Blue Day' is an instrumental synthdrone piece.
Blue Sound is a nice surprise if you never heard them before.

Dark Arts - A Long Way From Brigadoon 12"

This amazing 12", and my introduction to Dark Arts was originally posted on Mystery Poster but the post has disappeared. I offer my own rip here.
Dark Arts is actually Stephanie Payne. This 12" was released in 1986 on Ruthless Records, a label well known for releases of Big Black and The Effigies. This 12" was produced by Steve Albini, who ran Ruthless.
More info on Dark Arts here.
Also check my previous post, the 1991 album 'Carnival Of Lost Souls'.
Some crackling on the beginning of 'Rivers' that couldn't be removed.
